BDS Contracts (MH) Limited, was established in 1984, and as such has completed 25 years in the industry. The Company was set up initially to carry
out industrial painting contract works within the Petro-Chemical Refineries situated along the Milford Haven Estuary.
We are continuously reviewing our services with the intention of increasing and improving its’ capabilities of carrying out specialist activities within the industrial painting, high pressure water washing and tank cleaning industry.
BDS Limited has become recognised as one of the leaders in the field of surface preparation using specialist techniques such as grit and garnet medium blasting, vacuum blasting, wet blasting, blast track and ultra high water pressure systems. Coating application methods include airless spraying units, hydro-cat systems and brush/ roller.
BDS Limited specialises in, and has successfully completed a large number of, contracts involving the preparation and application of specialist lining systems to tanks, etc.
Mr Brian Summons, is the Company’s Managing Director.
Mr Arthur Phillips, Contracts Manager, is responsible for the commercial and contract organisational requirements. He is the company’s Quantity Surveyor.
An associate of the Company B & A CONTRACTS LIMITED specialise in Industrial cleaning services including by means of high pressure water jet washing systems; Tank/ Vessel cleaning including product recovery by gully sucker/ vacuum tanker units; cleaning of bundle tubes, etc.; civil works such as land clearance, excavation works, concrete works, etc.; supply, testing and maintenance of air fed breathing apparatus and supply of labour and trained safety observers/ fire watchers. Mr Alan Summons, Contracts Manager, is responsible for works carried out by this organisation.
The Organisation has constructed within its' yard at Milford Haven a secure covered facilities which allow for preparation and coating application works to be carried out in a controlled environment. The advantage of these facilities to the client is that their work can be carried out continuous, with no down time due to adverse weather.
A spud leg pontoon barge has also been purchased. This vessel is supplied with a hoist and hi-ab unit. The vessel has been used within the local estuary particularly of works associated with jetty pile, pipe track, surveying, etc. It has been of great benefit removing the need for the supply of scaffold systems with the associated costs.
All contracts are carried out to Quality Assurance System with Method Statements, Risk Assessments, CoSHH Assessments and Quality Plans being prepared prior to the commencement of work.The Company is
accredited to British Standards EN ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Systems.(Certificate number GB 9609). The Company employes it's own NACE Level 3 Painting Inspector.
The Companies have an excellent record in respect of Health, Safety, Welfare and Industrial Relations matters.They are members of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) – Membership number M40501072.
In 2006 the Organisation achieved the RoSPA Safety “Gold Award” having achieved the Bronze and Silver Awards on the two previous years.
Covered Lay-Down Facility
Within our yard at Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, BDS Contracts Limited have constructed covered facilities to enable blasting and coating activities to be carried out under environmentally controlled conditions.
The blasting facility has a floor area of 2650 square feet.
The 2 spraying facilities are environmentally controlled, each measuring 4350 square feet.
These covered facilities ensures that all work receives:
Movement of items within the yard is carried out by means of fork lift truck units.
Prepared items are moved within the spray shed by means of 4 ton gantry crane unit.
Work carried out within the facilities is done so under the Organisations' Quality documentation system with daily painting reports being prepared. Inspections are carried out by the Organisations' qualified NACE Level 3 Painting Inspector.
We are able to assist clients in the transportation of items to and from the lay down facility. This is achieved using our own flat bed lorry which is fitted with a hi-ab lifting unit.
Clients are now able to deliver to our yard a continuous amount of pipe/ steel work which is prepared and coated and returned directly to their facilities or other specified locations.
